Financial services team account manager

AHA! is a strategic communications firm with expertise in writing. We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and organized professional to join our team dedicated to our financial services clients. This person is key to maintaining and growing the relationship between the agency and our clients, and he or she will be responsible for managing agency resources to meet client needs. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to nurture successful client relationships and provide influential, strategic thought leadership to consistently exceed client expectations. 

Applicants must be able to write, edit and manage project details; interact with clients; and collaborate with writers, editors and designers. Occasional Bay Area travel is required. This is a full-time position.

Day-to-day responsibilities will often include, but not be limited to:

  • Building, nurturing and preserving client relationships to drive new, repeat and referral business
  • Establishing and overseeing workflow on multiple projects; managing multiple, often competing deadlines
  • Identifying critical path for projects; anticipating and resolving roadblocks to success
  • Being a consummate team player who can write, edit or be a creative contributor as needed
  • Create and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Collaborating with other account managers, writers, editors and designers
  • Participating in regular team meetings to share business strategies and project status

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university
  • Demonstrated track record of client relationship development and service
  • Minimum of five to seven years of account management experience in marketing communications
  • Proven experience prioritizing and managing complex, multifaceted workload with poise
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think on your feet and find creative solutions to resolve conflict
  • Copywriting experience preferred
  • Financial and/or B2B experience a plus
  • Working proficiency with MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
